Step Ⅰ Revision

T: I asked you to recite the summary. Can you?

Ss: Yes, we can.

T: OK, I will have a check. Now recite the summary to your partners, and then exchange the roles. I will choose some of you to recite it to me.

Teacher just checks one or two students. At the same time, let the students recite it to their desk-mates.

T: What are talked about in READING AND VOCABULARY(2), READING PRACTICE and CULTURAL CORNER?

Ask the students to tell the main ideas.

Step Ⅱ Lead-in

T: Last period we learnt the varieties of English. Do you think that in the future everyone in the world can speak English?

Ss: I am not sure, but I know it is becoming more and more important.

T: You will know it soon. In today's reading materials, we will learn "The future of English" and enjoy the colorful English.

Step Ⅲ Reading

1) Reading and vocabulary

T: Now open your books and turn to Page 50. Read the text quickly and then choose the right answers to Activity 2 on Page 51. You have 5 minutes to finish it.

5 minutes later.

T: OK. Time is up. Who'd like to give us your answers?

Check the answers.

T: Good job! Read the text once more. Find 3 sentences about facts and 3 sentences about one's opinion.
